Hoofddorp

The Tussenweg in Hoofddorp underwent a makeover with the addition of ten apartments with wooden finishes and the renovation of the existing commercial space.

There is already plenty of activity around AHAM’s former storefront on the narrow Tussenweg and busy Kruisweg in Hoofddorp. For years, several supermarket formulas were situated on the ground floor. Above it was a layer of apartments, which eventually got demolished. The retail space was stripped internally. The building’s construction remained in lace to create new high-quality homes.

This new beautiful building consists partly of red wooden slats and elongated windows. A staircase leads from the ground floor to the roof of the store. There you can find a courtyard and the first layer of apartments. All front doors can be reached from there. Four of the ten housing units have an area of about 50 square meters. The surfaces of the other six homes are between 75-80 square meters. Each home features a spacious balcony and are finished to a high standard. The commercial layer of the building has not yet been completed. The rear part of the ground floor is now a bicycle storage room, a staircase, and a general area. Ronald Janssen Architects’ design adds cachet to the entire street.
