Since 1906, our founder Mr. J. H. F. Schopman and his sons have been building a real estate portfolio with Amsterdam as their home base and point of departure. The values that define a family business remain firmly rooted in our organization today: a long‑term perspective, continuous innovation, and genuine commitment to the people we work with.

We believe that genuine attention makes everything better. We aim to offer a counterbalance to the fast‑paced real estate market by focusing on quality — and on everything required to achieve it, such as a positive working environment and personal development. And, admittedly, we all share a slight obsession with real estate development; it’s what makes our hearts beat a little faster.

We work hard — our quality standards and ambitions are sky‑high. At the same time, we look out for one another, enjoy having fun together, and regularly head out as a team. Sometimes to celebrate a success, sometimes to seek inspiration — for example at the Architecture Biennale. Twice a year, we organize our property tour: a bike tour with our employees past some of our most interesting buildings. Many colleagues and clients keep their calendars clear for it when planning holidays.
And speaking of bikes… our bicycle fleet is larger than our car park — and we’d very much like to keep it that way.

Our motto is “real estate with a heart.” This means that we not only manage our existing real estate portfolio responsibly and transform properties with care, but that our work also has a positive impact far beyond Amsterdam. AHAM Real Estate is fully owned by the Saint Antonius Foundation. One hundred percent of the profits we distribute are used by the foundation to support numerous social projects in countries across sub‑Saharan Africa.
