De Teunis
In Amsterdam North, we are developing a new part of the city along the banks of the Johan van Hasselt Canal. The project focuses on a sustainable residential complex with space for offices, hospitality, and local makers. It offers a unique blend of urban living and working in Amsterdam North, featuring 48 modern rental apartments (both social housing and private sector) alongside a variety of commercial spaces.
Studioninedots and Up4 are responsible for the design of De Teunis. The architecture clearly reflects a modernist character, with the six-meter-high plinth as a striking feature – designed to accommodate productive spaces for the local manufacturing sector.
In addition to these commercial spaces, the development includes office spaces and residential units across the different buildings. A green rooftop terrace and an inner courtyard connect the buildings, offering residents a perfect spot to relax with a book and a cup of coffee.
Sustainability plays a key role throughout the project, with a strong focus on future-proof development.
