Amstelwood

A distinctive new residential development is taking shape on Ouderkerkerlaan in Amstelveen: Amstelwood, the first timber residential tower in the Netherlands. The building will comprise 72 owner-occupied apartments and 59 rental homes. Upon completion, the rental homes will be offered for rent by AHAM Vastgoed.

On the site of a former petrol station and garage, a contemporary residential building is being developed where sustainability, quality of living and a strong architectural identity come together. The timber-hybrid structure, green roof gardens and richly planted façades enhance biodiversity while contributing to a healthy and comfortable living environment. With its distinctive design, the tower will become a recognisable landmark, strengthening the urban setting while creating space for nature.

A defining feature of Amstelwood is the strong connection between the building and its surroundings. Timber is not only visible throughout the building, but also forms an integral part of its structure. Greenery has been incorporated into both the building and the outdoor spaces from the very beginning. The result is a future-proof residential environment that encourages social interaction, supports biodiversity and offers a pleasant place to live.

Amstelwood is located where Amstelveen’s urban centre meets its green surroundings. The Stadshart, public transport, employment hubs and major transport links are all close by. At the same time, the Amsterdamse Bos and De Poel are within easy reach, offering residents the best of both worlds: urban convenience and nature close to home.
